Hi Friends... Welcome back! It's day five of My Favorite Things' 5 Days to an Organized Crafty Stash series. Today, we're sharing ideas for organizing INK!
Ink is SO my thing. I just love it! But I have to admit I'm sort of a practical organizer.
So I have that "if it ain't broke, don't fix it" philosophy. And my very old system works for me with the space constraints that I have and my style of stamping. So... these first few photos show my storage for my MFT Pigment and MFT Hybrid Inks.
This drawer set is behind where I sit so that all I have to do is turn around to get into the drawers. Now, I keep my inks upside down to keep my ink pads juicy. So I'm still working on getting the color on the bottoms for a quick read of which in is which.
I'm still building on and organizing my ink refills. I found that these old containers I had were perfect dividers. I need to get a few more for all the new inks... guess I'll have to transfer stuff from out of the few others I have to complete the job. LOL! Like I said.. I just like my older stuff... so why buy different. Now... this is with inks. I'm changing my stamps and dies system... just didn't have it ready to share this week yet. THIS drawer system is similar to what I have.
More oldies but goodies. I love these drawers for my most used ink pads... The MFT Dye Inks. They sit in front but to the side of my desk. I don't like things right in front of me... I like to be able to see through the window or talk with my kids while I create.
Each drawer is assigned a color... some colors have two drawers... like green! These older drawers fit 9 ink pads. The newer drawers fit less... so I keep the colors in there that are in between ... like a blue-green.
I just used a label maker to make quick labels. Super easy. You can find these drawers HERE.
Now... here are the prizes that are being offered. Head on over to the MFT Blog to enter to win the grand prize for this week!
I hope that this week with all the MFT Blog crafty orginization tips has been inspiring.
Thanks for poppying by, friends!
Glad to see the tried and true, using what you already have, works for you. In 2014 I invested $200 in "new" ink storage and I am not happy with my decision. It's not working too good for me. I wish, like you did, I would have stuck to "if it ain't broken, don't fix it." Oh, well. Live and learn, right? :)

I use some of the inks storage that is shown.
The distressed ink storage piece you highlighted looks awesome. To have your ink pads, reinkers and markers in one place seems like the perfect solution.
I really enjoyed the Five Days of Organization.

Looks good to me! I label EVERYTHING! At least you can take a drawer to your desk if you need more than 1 colour for the project. Stay with what works for you!

Lisa, finally, someone who stores their ink like me, upside down! I was always under the impression that it was better to store them upside down because then the ink runs to the top for better stamped coverage and the ink lasts longer! Nicely done!

Love your storage!

Great ideas! I can spend my limited funds on more inks and dies or I can spend it on an expensive shelving system! So, I am a BIG fan of using whatever containers I have in the house and storing things in a drawer and it works great for me! Thanks for the great tips!

I have my inks in a drawer, too. I just needed room on my crafting table. Thanks for sharing all week. Got some great ideas of what works.

I like the idea of marking the bottom of each ink pad for storage in your drawers. I could use the MFT paint swish and just systematically mark each one. Thanks for the inspriration.
