Tonights post is a little like the price is right... what is behing the tags??? (You know, like curtain #1.) Hmm... might have just shown my age with that intro. LOL!
Well, here we are for the New Product Tour for MFT's November release! I have been saving the best for last... or at least the closest to my heart for last.... the line is a little blurred there. You see... we have a family tradition in my home. Every year I make my daughters an ornament for the Christmas tree. It's a wonderful night when we present the ornaments, eat cookies and drink cocoa and take turns putting up our own ornaments. You see... what started this tradition is the fact that I didn't have any ornaments for my own tree when I got married. I wanted that to be not only different but special for my girls. On their wedding day, they will receive their box of ornaments for their new family tree... to remember the past while building their futures. So... without further ado ... the Johnson Girl's Ornaments 2012!
Each showcases Die-namics Winter Wreath die cuts and the same ornament base from the Die-namics Decorative Circle STAX... but each stocking is unique… just like the girl they are meant for!
This one has a more country feeling.
The year is on the back... and here is the tag for this ornament.
They are simple, yes. But the truth is that they will rip them off and they will get trampled on during the festivities. Sometimes you have to know the recipients. Right? Simple doesn't mean it can't be cute though! LOL!
Next off... For my little ballerina.
I had thought of doing more to the backs but I just liked it simple... so the year stands alone.
I didn't have a great pink ink to coordinate... so I kept with traditional for her tag. (She actually might keep hers... she is a bit of a pack rat! LOL!)
This one might just be my favorite... I just love how the little bell adds some extra fun
See how cute it is in this close up?! I love these little bells. Adorable!
Notice the 2 different felt colors I used for the wreath too?
I love having a coordinating To: and From: stamp in Stitched Stockings! The Dashed Dots are so versatile... are all the images in Darling Dots!
Notice how there are different details on each one? Each tag and ornament MUST be different. This is two-fold. It helps make each of them feel special and cuts down of fighting over whose is whose.
I added a little cuff on this stocking... even though it doesn't appear that way on the stamp. These Stocking Trio Dies are SO versatile!
Last... but never least... my BYU attending daughter's tag.
She will like the little bell on her tag. Now... a little note of warning. These took ALL DAY to create. Why? Well... each stocking, number and Circle base has a coaster under it to make it more durable and sturdy. I used hot glue and that it a little time consuming... and did you see how much die-cutting I did. I'm so glad I have a Vagabond or my arm might have fallen off. So... if you want to make some of your own, let me suggest that you watch a few good movies and enjoy making a day of it... of working in increments.
Well, that wraps up my post for tonight! I hope you've had as much fun peeking as I have had in making these projects. I am SO looking forward to seeing what you all make!
