This month Melissa Bickford has created two sweet baby sets for Papertrey Ink... We are showcasing them tonight... and you are in for some fun and refreshing ideas that the Design Team has come up with
My post is extra long today so sit tight! I've had some serious fun creating for this assignment.
A new baby was born into the Johnson family a few months ago. I've been waiting for his parents to finish relocating before sending off a gift... and taking my time buying it. They just got to their new home and I can now send something... so, I thought I would make a sibling gift set.
Fun huh! What's the surprise inside? Well... first off, for the big sister, some magnets!
I Used the Sweet Baby die to die cut the magnet sheet (recycled) as well as the score-tape sheet. It's a great product that makes this SUPER quick and easy! Normally I would use liquid glue, but this is so much cleaner than that.
After that I die cut and stamped my felt with the Giraffe, Lion and Elephant images. Putting together was a snap! I did remove the advertisement from the magnet sheet before adhering them though.
Here they are all finished (In Simply Chartreuse, Ocean Tides & Harvest Gold felt) and sticking to something metal! LOL!

And here is the little packaging that I created for them. A cute tag with the Lion from Sweet Baby tied to a glassine bag pulls it all together...

and her name stamped out with the Alpha-blocks stamp set personalizes it!
Sibling gifts, to be, go together in some way... I find that when my daughters got them they enjoyed playing together with them and it created bonding opportunities.
So, the similar gift I created for the new little guy is one that his mom will need to help him with for a little while... animal finger puppets!

I die cut the Harvest Gold felt and stamped it, then I took a small strip of the felt and adhered it to the back with Zip-dry. I did use a fat sharpie, not the metal one, to make sure that I saved some finger room.
Here they all are!
Once he gets past that "everything in the mouth" phase he can play with these while he's at church or something like that.
Here is his packaging...

I wanted something that would keep these safe for storing, as well as being portable, so I created a little tin. The strip going around the tin is stamped to match the felt animals... tying it all together. I used the Tag Sale # 3 die to create the personalized tag along with the alphabet.

Here is a peek again at the set. I used fairly gender neutral colors for too. I can just imagine them playing with these! I won't see it though, since they are in Germany now. :)
Next is a Sweet Boy card...

I thought of a baby quilt when I created with one. I really like the color combination of the papers in the Road Trip paper pack and used that to bring it all to life.

I love that this little Elephant image has an open space for the ear.... perfect for paper piecing! I also used the Numbers impression plate, but it's not showing up here... even though it's really well impressed in person. Camera lens tricks I think. :)
Next of is a gentle, more feminine card using Bundle of Joy.

This stork was really easy to paper piece too.

The baby's wrapping was a little more intricate because I did it in three parts so I could sponges the edges to add depth. (The bow, side piece and main piece in the front. The baby is colored in with a very light pink Copic marker.
Well, I hope you've enjoyed today's post with all the baby love! Here are the links to the other DT blogs so you can quickly hop over to see what they've made!
