August brings bright flowers, days at the beach and summer picnics. It's also a great month to reflect before school begins. September brings new era's for my family... in a way I want to keep August forever. :)
The Papertrey Ink Sr. DT have been challenged by Nichole to look back on one of the first sets Papertrey offered for the August Challenge. We get to share a new perspective on a great older set!
Spiral Bouquet is and oldie-but-goody stamp set... it's so fun to brush off the dust and create some for cards with it!
Here is my first one...Clean with some whimsy.
Mixing patterns can be tricky but I find if the colors are the same, or similar, it makes it all come together beautifully. I used A Little Argyle and School Time stamp sets for these patterns. I'm really in love with Baker's Twine right now. I used the Dark Chocolate to add a little contrast to the card.
Next is one that has a more shabby/vintage touch.
I wanted to use the solid flower and leaf images from the set for this card. This set is so versatile having both. I also love the font that is used for the larger sentiments in this set. Very elegant. When I was playing with the color combo for this I was debating using the ink colors (Hawaiian Shores and Spring moss) instead of just a monotone Dark Chocolate flower/stem. I chose to use the colors to frame the flower instead letting the sentiment take front stage.
So... what is one of your favorite older Papertrey Ink stamp sets?
Here are the links to the other Sr. DT members and Nichole!
By the way... the hike up to Mt. Baker was amazing! I'm such a lucky mom! I'll post photos soon!
