I'm going to get a bit nostalgic here... so feel free to skip down to the projects if you want. LOL!
I'm a pretty lucky gal. Somehow this wonderful man fell in love with me at the same time I fell in love with him. We knew we wanted to build a life together and got married. Chris comes from a large family... he is the oldest of eight! (18 now that his father remarried after his Mom passed away.) He helped his Mom a ton growing up...Needless to say, Chris is a GREAT Dad! As you can tell in this photo... he loves to fish. He also loves to hike, camp and Kayak...among other things. To even out the huge amount of manliness he brings to our home, God graced us with four daughters.
He doesn't leave his girls out of his favorite activities because we all love to do the same things. I grew up doing it all, and loving it. (Don't tell him that I told you this... but I'm the one who catches the biggest fish!)
What do you think my man said to his 7 year old daughter when she sweetly smiled and asked him to DANCE in the Nutcracker Ballet with her? Let me just say that I thought he would laugh and decline. Nope... even though it's not anything he is remotely interested in, he stepped up and performed with her in the party scene. Poor guy even hurt his ankle the night of the performance. It brings tears to me eyes when I think of how much he loves our girls.
Chris is a Director or Finance and Human Resources. Lot's of business meetings and overseeing huge projects for an important employer. By now you have probably gotten the picture that he has a lot of rolls to fill and varying interests.
Because Chris has meetings in his office I thought that I would make him something that he would be able to use there. Glass Coasters for his desk and meeting table. I used Terracotta Tile, Kraft, and Smokey Shadow ink and paper as the color combination.
Orange is one of Chris' favorite colors so I knew I needed to work that in when thinking about creating. I wanted it to be personalized, manly and something that combined outdoors with business.
I used Trajan Alphabet for the monogram, A Little Argyle and Life for the background and Woodgrain for under the "CSJ". The Stitching adds even more of a rustic feel... and the fact that it's twine instead of regular thread is SO much better for a guy.
I made sure to create a coordinating card and wrap too.
I'm really loving the versatility of the Mat Stack 2 die!
I think I pulled off joining his business and fun world together!
