Well... today is the last day of the official Life countdown! I have really enjoyed sharing this week. It's been wonderful having you along on this journey with me. Just think... only a few more hours until you can order this fun new stamp set! I hope you will join us over at the Papertrey Ink Forum release party on March 14th at 10 PM EST/7PM PST to chat and get to know each other better! Life goes on sale at midnight EST... 9PM PST! 9 (I might be a tad late because we have a work dinner for my husband.)
I have two last projects to share..Hopefully you will find some inspiration from them.
One of the trickiest things to do is to create for teenage girls. My oldest daughter turns 16 at the end of this month and I was aching to make her something with this set using her room colors. She is bright and bold and her style reflects that so much. Here is a frame I made for her birthday. She is terrible at letting me take her photo... but this contemplative shot really fit the feeling I wanted the project to convey.
I discovered a new, at least new to me, technique while doing this frame... I'm dying to share it with you but I have to save that for another day. I need to buy another frame to create a tutorial for it... it's just too in depth to try to verbally explain. Let me know if you are ARE interested in learning how to recreate the "texture" below. I'll be glad to do the tutorial if there is interest! :) Here are a few close ups!
I love how these two images climb up the frame! You may notice the airy feel to the blue paint... the trick is to have a light touch and go over it OVER AND OVER again until you get the result you want...Making sure to always start on the outside pulling in. then you can go back with the brush that is almost dry and sweep it down. This really helps pick up brush stroke texture!
After everything was dry I stamped the images from Life in True Black and lightly heat set it. The True black buttons were the perfect touch with the added beads, gems and sequins! SEI has some preeeety trims that I found in my stash that coordinated really well with the colors I chose. (Believe it or not ... this matches her room SO well... she LOVES this green and blue together.)
I gave it to her early and she loves it! I smiled!
One last card... yes... its bright and bold too. I actually started stamping this the first night I broke open my set.
I had a really hard time capturing the colors in my editing... but these are Raspberry Fizz, Lemon Tart and Spring Moss colored panels. It's very vibrant and "Cheery" IRL.
What a great way to encourage someone... telling them to Celebrate, delight in and enjoy Life!
Hey... don't forget to head on over to Lauren's, Becky's, Melissa's and Nichole's blog for some additional PTI sweetness! AND... don't forget to Visit Maggie Holmes too... she has some lovely Papertrey projects to share too!
I wanted to close with my deepest appreciation for you encouragement! Not just for this week... but for all the many times you have commented and shared a part of you. I could not do what I do without YOU! THANK YOU! I hope you will be one of the lucky first stampers to own and play with Life... I can't see what you all make. Please let me know which of my projects for Life was your favorite... I'd love to know!
See you at the release party... Thanks for Poppy-ing by!
(I'm a little under the weather... supplies will be listed later.)
