I'm so happy today is finally here... that I get to start sharing projects and info about my newest stamp set... Life! (available March 15 through Papertrey Ink)
Life is a 15 image, $15 set filled with life celebrating sentiments and earthy elegant images. The artwork is intentionally ambiguous allowing for year-round and all occasion creating! I am really excited about the fact that I can simply change the color of the ink and the images take on a different feel. Also, there are many masculine possibilities with this set that make it even more versatile!
So... onto the pretty stuff! I thought I would share with you, on this first countdown day, my very first card using Life!
I know how many people love wildflowers and foliage. This card is reflective of a wildflower bouquet! I hesitate calling these any type of plants because they reflect several varieties... which you will come to see this week... but I envisioned my herb garden while making this card. Sage, Lavender and Thyme are what I attempted. Now.... envision this same card with fall colors and the images take on a whole new variety of plants. I LOVE that about this set!!!
Here is a close up of the images. you may notice the built in texture in the images...a little distressed edges add so much. I used a glue pen and Prisma glitter to highlight the Plum Pudding image. It really added dimension to the card!

This image popped into my head while illustrating the set. I couldn't get it out of my mind but it took a really long time for me to refine.I'm so pleased with the final result. :) There are several plants that have these types of leaves and structure... Lupine is just one of the many.
I love how the loose glitter adds a fantastic sparkle and elegance to this card! I simply added it to the leaves for that extra pop! Sweet blush ink was used as a shadow color to Melon Berry ink to layer the image. Isn't that fun! Oh... and notice that one sentiment, on the first card, uses "Life" on the front while this card has it added to the end. I made sure there was a variety on how the sentiments interchange! There are also other sentiments like "Celebrate", "Enjoy"... "Friends for" that are in the set. SO versatile!
