Before we get onto the card I wanted to say a HUGE welcome to the newest members of the Papertrey Ink Design Team! I have had a blast these past few weeks getting to know these fab gals...and I am honored to be included among them! Nichole really shared some wonderful insights about them in her post and I hope that you will take the time to read her post and get to know them better! Thanks Nichole for letting me be a part of such a great team and for your gracious comments, what a great year this will be!
Onto the card!...I thought it would be interesting to try something different with embossing... Heat on heat baby!
This takes a little finesse as you need to control the amount of heat you apply the 2nd time around. For this focal point I created a reverse embossed image with the small dotted borders & corners set from Papertrey Ink using gold embossing powder. I then dusted it with an embossing buddy and stamped the leaf image in VersaMark and sprinkled it with Vanilla Embossing powder. Here come the trick... I warmed up my heat tool for about 30 seconds then lightly heated the image, making sure to rotate it, until it was just melted. Rotating it will help the base image to stay intact. I love how this paper by WeR goes so well with the leaf image from PTI's Text Box! Let me know if you try this technique so I can come see your fun projects!
Off I go to bed... this is my last sat at home for a few weeks and I HAVE to pack my DH & kids up to join me in SoCal after CHA for a family vacation... I can't wait to see my youngest two for the first time at Disneyland! Let me know if you have any advice. :)
Happy Weekend!
Lisa
