CHA III - Blutterfly

No...its not a typo, although if you read Poppy Paperie very often you know that I am the QUEEN of typos! My sweet Ella calls this a Blutterfly card. {I LOVE how she says that!}  Anyway, this card was originally created for a call but got no love. I think my mind has been geared a little to other things (house selling, buying, new job, girls camp, another girls camp and EFY!) It was one of those "heehee" moments when I figured out how to make a butterfly from these heart punches and some of Marvy's circle and ovals too! This card quickly became a sample for the Marvy Booth at CHA to show the versatility of the scalloped heart punches.

Now, these Papertrey images really make the card in my opinion.  that trail image from little lady set that butterfly...er, I mean BLUTTERFY a-flight. I used Prism cardstock, WeR pattern paper, Marvy ink, punches and trimmer.

I have some more fun CHA pics but wanted to save the best for last...to be continued!

Personal note: Selling a house BITES! (total 80's word there! LOL)I have had zero time to create and respond to emails. today I am getting a hotel down in Anacortes (Hannah is going to girls camp with our soon to be Ward down there) and plan on getting caught up all all my computer work in the hotel. Hopefully not having to keep up the house behind tornado Ella for just a few days will save my sanity. Let them let loose in the hotel room a Little and hang by the pool. We found another house we are making an offer on today so hopefully that will go through. Our top choice sold after sitting on the market for 2 years! grrrr! Please keep us in your prayers and thoughts. I know its a little struggle compared to what so many I know are going through and it will be over soon...I think I am a super wimp at this house selling stuff. I think the fact that Alex is starting High school Sept 5th really has me worried.

CHA II- Prism Papers

A few months ago the Prism design team was asked to create samples for them using their Metallic line. This card of mine was one chosen by them. Later they told me they would be using it for some Ad work...Gotta love that little extra tid bit.

So here I am...at CHA the night before it all opened up...totally jet lagged and soar. I had just finished setting up my M&T for the morning and decided to go check a few of the booths that I was supposed to have projects at. Prism Papers was just down the way so i decided to pop by their booth. To say I was in shock when I got to the booth is an understatement! Can you say "larger than life"? Jamie at Prism did a great job with this back drop huh! Can you see Papertrey's fun Stamps on this?! AND... Marvy punches! So fun!

So, here is the new glitter marker from Marvy Uchida (pronounced ooo-chee-duh) now let me tell ya... this baby ROCKS! I had several designers pop by to say Hi and when I showed them this they drooled BIG TIME!  the tip doesn't clog since it is in marker form and it really makes things shine! a broader tip than the Sakura gel pen so that you can get a fuller coverage! It's shipping now so look for it in your local stores!

I have even more to share...but kids need to eat...silly huh! LOL! :) I will share my favorite part of my trip in the next post!

What a blast!

CHA was a lot of work and a ton of fun! I only had a few hours to actually walk the show but I have to say...my very favorite part of this CHA was seeing old friends and making some new ones! Here are some photo's from the last day at the show.

One of my dearest friends, Heather....Pinefeather on SCS...or Pine as we all call her, was able to attend and it was such a joyful thing for me to see her. My emotions caught me off guard when she had to go...silly sappy me. :) Talent just oozes from her!

It was fantastic to see long and luscious Taylor and to finally meet Debbie after all these years of drooling over her work. here's hoping some of their Mojo rubbed off on me! Heehee!

Stephanie Hamilton was SO SWEET! She came up to me at the Marvy Booth to say Hi and I was in shock that she even knew who I was! Stephanie graces pages of many of the Paper Crafts publications. She comes up with super witty cards that just crack me up! Its so neat to make a new friend! Keep in touch girl!

I had photos of a ton of other ladies at this after hours get together and they were super blurry :(  *bummed*

Look at this group of incredible stampers! How many faces do you recognize? can you see the talent just ooooooozing!? I was fortunate enough to be able to visit with these ladies before my Dinner with the Marvy Team. I feel bad that I could stay and get to know them all better....amazing ladies!

It was so fun to see Megan, Ellen and Nichole at the Paper Crafts reception... what a blast! they had treats for us too!

I have SO many more photos to share... ironically not to many of actual products...I think it was that I was so excited to visit that I overlooked taking them. I did find some really neat stuff that I haven't yet seen on other blogs and will share those this week. We R just took my breath away as usual and Marvy surprised my with a new glitter pen that is broad point and not ball point called JUST GLITTER! Fellow designers were freaking out about it!

Papertrey Ink Borders and Corners

Sorry I'm so late sharing some of my Papertrey creations... Selling a house, when you have 4 very busy girls is proving to be a mighty task.

It's funny what you end up loving vs. what other like. I get a bit of a thrill when I figure out a way to create with something in an out of the box way. The Heart Punches can be used in SO many different ways. The Christmas tree was my fav out of the box idea (so far...hoping I get a few more too!).

 

Here is the First one I created. (it's one of my projects for CHA)

I didn't want to share this until now because I waned to share it with the new Papertrey Borders and corners sets! I think they add SO much to this concept.

I really love the ease of use of these new images. I approached this assignment a little differently...I out my white paper, ink and punches and just started making focal images. This is the first one I came up with.

I LOVE this font that Nichole used  I think its a perfect complement to these scalloped punches! I wanted to avoid the traditional  romantic concept with these heart punches... thats a given with these! :)  I Love the fun little tidbits that are created with these sets...you really can create a little of everything.

Now...I really tried to work with my patterned paper this time around...I have been neglecting it these past few months...been loving my Prism! So I wanted to take a stab a coordinating some of the images with WeR's paper. This little love bug card  and this retro card turned out just as I had hoped!

If you haven't already jumped on the scalloped bandwagon...now is the time! Nichole and the great ladies at Papertrey Ink have done it up right!

Personal note: The house went on the market and we have had a few people view it! Yipee...hopfully someone will just love it. We have found a house but cant make a contingent offer (they don't accept them :{  )  I leave for CHA on Thursday and Chris is going to prep an open house while I am gone! I tell ya...I hope he doesn't stress out too much.

Basketball Board

My oldest DD, Allie or Alex (we call her both), was playing Summer BBall for the high School she was going to next year. She had been weight training and practicing in the mornings and it was fantastic that she can just ride her bike to school. I made this half heartedly for a Publication Call. My thought was that it wouldn't get chosen and I could surprise Allie with it. It wasn't geared to the call or magazine...but to match her room! :) We will have to modify it for the new High School though...Anacortes High School!

Beautiful Anacortes Washington, Located on Fidalgo island, surrounded by amazing ocean views. Chris has accepted the position of the Director of Finance and operations for the Port of Anacortes. He will start Aug 1...and commute until we get a house. (we think) I am trying to talk him into renting something teeny and just moving now so that our house can sell without little critters making messes. Less stress for me... but that may just be too much to pull off. Anyway... we are still very excited, exhausted, but excited! We have Painted decks, cabinets, walls...cleaned gutters, windows, yard...tomorrow is the final prep day to wrap it all up and get the house listed. Whew! Oh...I forgot to mention...CHRIS has been gone this entire time and just came home tonight...so I'm ready for his help in the worst way. Keep wishing us luck...I swear I can feel it! :)

So sorry this is a day late...we ended up looking at the final list of homes yesterday and I just dropped when I got home. We found two fantastic homes and are putting an offer on one today...cross your fingers for us!

SOoooo... ONE person actually guessed where we were moving in her comments...how cool is that! I will post all the info on the next post...I'm so excited and so are the girls...Yipee!

Oh yes...winners! These two ladies get a scalloped circle and rectangle (pink) punch and 7 Le Plume II markers! Whoohoo ladies! Huge congrats!

Whoohooo! You are so generous. I can't even imagine packing up and moving with kids. You are going to have your hands full. Let's see....are you moving to NYC?

Where has Lisa been? (Contest)

Holy Moly Cow Batman! Things have been nuts here in the Johnson home...thats for sure! I've missed posting and hearing from you all...but, I have been packing and getting ready for the house to list...HE GOT THE JOB!!! Whoohooo! I can't share the details yet as there is one last board meeting that has to vote on the final salary approval...but I will share when that comes through. Chris is out of town fishing on top of it all... Nutter Butter I tell ya! LOL!
